Optocoupler SMD

An SMD optocoupler (surface-mount opto-isolator) is an electronic component used to transfer electrical signals between two isolated circuits using light. It contains an internal LED and photodetector housed in a compact surface-mount package, providing electrical isolation that protects sensitive components from high voltages, noise, and ground loops.

These devices are widely used in switching power supplies, microcontroller interfaces, and industrial control systems where safe signal isolation is required. The small SMD form factor enables easy automated PCB assembly and space-efficient designs.
