DS1307 SMD Chip (SOIC-8) is a low-power real-time clock (RTC) integrated circuit designed to keep track of time and date in embedded electronic systems. Packaged in a compact SOIC-8 surface-mount form, it communicates through the I²C interface, making it easy to integrate with microcontrollers and digital circuits.
The chip maintains seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information with automatic end-of-month and leap-year correction. When paired with a backup battery, it continues timekeeping even during power interruptions.
